Tea Party Express
March on Washington DC
September 12, 2009
|
A great picture is all in how you hold your mouth . . . |
It amazes me how the liberals think they can get away with this and that the rest of us are too stupid to see where this government is going and too ineffective to do anything about it. Are you waiting for November 2010 before you do anything about it? |
Well, for at least 50% of us (the non-taxpayer), it will be free. |
We can only HOPE. |
Obama's intentions are indeed transparent. Is that what he meant by Government transparency? That we'd be able to see right through him? |
Those are all perjoratives we've been called by various members of congress, the administration and the far left. How's that make you feel? |
Great Idea! Where's my bailout money? |
And they want us to trust the govenment with our health care too? Are they the idiots? |
I'll admit I've forgotten a lot of American History. I had to look this one up. Basically, it's the doctrine that says the States have the right to individually nullify any Federal Government law they feel is unjust. The doctrine was based on the theory that the Union is a voluntary compact of states and that the federal government has no right to exercise powers not specifically assigned to it by the U.S. Constitution. I agree with the latter part of that statement and I believe that the Federal Government has crossed that line way too many times - for the past 30 years or so, not just this administration. |
Yep, they're taking them all . . . and have been for decades. |
November 2010 can't come fast enough for me . . . |
It will be interesting to compare reporting on this march and rally between Fox and the rest of the media. My guess is that unless you watch Fox, you'll see just a footnote in the news. |
Her friend's sign. Congress has been comatose for years. Again, November 2010 can't come fast enough.
|
The flip side of the sign above! |
Yes! |
Yes again! |
These marchers, dressed as they would have for the original Boston Tea Party in 1773, were to lead the march to the capitol. |
Rapping out the beat . . . !! |
Pipers! |
Again! |
And the March begins . . . !!
|
Here he is again!! |
"I need a JOB, not a Screwing."
Yeah, just where are all those "Stimulus" jobs?
The crowds are well behaved. Asked to march in the street and not on the sidewalks, almost all complied. I'm sure that was a condition of the permit.
|
Although the drummers and pipers were to be leading the march, hundreds and hundreds of marchers got out in front of them. This man, the leader, was trying to keep the way clear. |
Drummers and pipers! It's great!! |
The thin blue line - again. I think these are the same guys as before - just moved a couple blocks down the street. I think they are dismayed by one, the size of the crowd, and two, the good behavior of the crowd. Must be awfully boring for them. |
There are people here from all walks of life, expressing all kinds of views - all with some concerns with our government and the direction they are going. I too think that our President is getting close to impeachable offenses against our Constitution. Now if we can just wake up our somnolent "Representatives" to that fact. |
So explain to me again why ACORN is entitled to Millions, if not Billions, of TAXPAYER money? |
"Congress shall make no law respectin an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press;
or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances. "
-- The First Amendment of the US Constitution. --
Very appropriate for today - This is the 75' tall facade of the Newseum - a News Museum found on Pennsylvania Avenue on the route of the march.
|
Right on! |
We approach the Nations Capitol. |
Looking back the marchers extend from the Capitol all the way to the start at 14th and Pennsylvania.
|
Almost there!! |
Still trying to clear a way for the drummers and pipers. |
Tell me exactly what you think! |
I'm standing on the fountain where Pennsylvania Avenue meets East Capitol Circle. I'm looking back up the route of the march. |
Looking from the same fountain towards the South Wing of the Capitol - the bedroom of the House of Representatives when they're in session. The Senate sleeps in the North Wing. |
